Fans were all tuned in to this game. Fans were crowding up the city making it one of the most unforgetable fan moments in Mets history. So the Mets became World Champions for the first time in Franchise history. Former manager Davey Johnson was the final batter of the Series as he hit a fly ball to center field. Then the catch was made and the Mets became the World Champions. Fans who were sitting in the seats and stands came out on to the field like a wild ambush of flodding water and came out jumping, screaming and getting all happy. It was the first ever Shea moment in Mets history.

The score was 5-3.

Mets 4-1

Orioles 1-4

The Orioles would have just been losers through out the entire series, in fact they were neve into the game and it never seemed like they were ever into the game. But for the Mets they were already into the game after losing Game 1 of the series and winning Game 2 all the way to Game 5.
