The Mets 2008 season was their 47th season and Shea Stadium's final year and the Mets 45th at Shea. The team again collapsed again to the Flordia Marlins for the second time in a row since on September 12,2007 The team landed in seocnd place with a 89-73 record by being 3 games back behind the Philadelphia Phillies. The Phillies made it to the World Series and won. Willie Randolph was fired by Omar Minaya and Jerry Manuel became the manager since. He is the second African-American Manager in Mets history. The Mets then moved to Citi Field in 2009. The Milwaukee Brewers won the Wild Card from the Mets. The season ended on September 27,2008.
