On August 8,2011 The Mets began to host a 4 game series against the San Diego Padres. Mike Pelfrey started for the mets after a big Tomato Crushing Loss as they lost Daniel Murphy and Jose Reyes to the DL as they were Murphing Out. So in response the mets called up Ruben Tejada to replace Murphy's spot and called up Mike Baxter to take over Reyes spot on the roster. So early on Mike gave up a run in the first. But with Angel Pagan leading off he hit a homerun in the 1st to start of the game for The Amazin' Mets.

In the second inning Jason Bay hit a homerun in the second to give the mets a 2 run lead.

In the third inning David Wright hit his first homerun at home which was a 2-run shot to give the mets a 4 run lead.

But in the 8th inning the Pads took the lead as Pedro Beato and Ryota Igarashi combined as they allowed 4 runs on 2 hits,2 walks and a hitting a batter with a pitch in 1 2/3 innings. So in the 8th the Pads took a 8 run lead. But the mets rallied for 2 runs in the bottom half of the inning as they scored 2 runs to make it 8-6. Part of that was new met Mike Baxter got his first double in New York. It was on the first pitch of his at-bat.

9th inning rally

In the 9th inning with runners on base with Justin Turner and Wright were on base with Lucas Duda batting. A wild pitch moved the runners to 2nd and 3rd. Then Lucas hit one up the middle scored Turner to tie up the game which made it 8-8 then Wright comes and scores while sliding and the home plate umpire and David bumped on the ump's right leg on his head but was alright as it was a little one. The home plate umpire was Marty Foster.

It was a 3-run rally and the Mets win 9-8 over the Padres.

Former Met pitcher and current closer for San Diego Heath Bell got his 4th loss of the year as he is now 2-4 and Jason Isringhausen got his 3rd win of the year as he is now 3-2.

This was Duda's first walkoff of his career. The Mets win 9-8.
