Christopher Schwinden (born September 22, 1986) is a Major League Baseball starting/relief pitcher for the New York Mets.
2008-2010[]
He was drafted by the Mets in the 22nd round of the 2008 Draft. He played in the minors since then.

He joined the club as a part of the September Callups on September 5 and made his debut as a starter on September 8 against the Atlanta Braves in a double header as the Mets lost to a score of 5-6 as Chris got his first lost of his career.

He got his first Major League hit on the road against the St. Louis Cardinals on September 21 in the Mets 6-5 loss.
2012[]
On April 26 Chris was called up to the ball club to take over Mike Pelfrey's spot on the roster after pitcher Robert Carson who first took it over was sent down after not making an appearance at all since his call-up. On May 4 he was sent down as Vinny Rottino replaced him. On May 20 he was called up to take over Miguel Batista's spot on the roster after he was placed on the DL. The next day he was sent down as Vinny Rottino took his spot on May 21. He returned on May 29 replacing Justin Turner who went on the DL.
On June 1 he was DFA'd by the Mets. On June 2 he was claimed off waivers by the Toronto Blue Jays. However he was still DFA'd by the Blue Jays, Cleveland Indians, and the New York Yankees. Then he rejoined the Mets on July 5 on waivers and was out-righted to the Buffalo Bisons on July 10.
