On September 24 the mets began hosting the Philadelphia Phillies as part of a 3 game set. But on September 23 the game was delayed by rain so the day/night doubleheader on the 24th. The Mets put R.A. Dickey on the mound. Here are the Notes

  • Dickey had done 6 innings of no hit ball and got some defense support. As Josh Satin made a catch on the first base Mets side of the railing. Also the big won was Nick Evans who went all the way back in right field and stumbled while making the catch.
  • Val Pascucci had his first homerun since 04 which was with the Expos against the Mets. This homerun tied the game at 1 in the 7th inning.
  • Ruben Tejada got a single and stole second base and came around to score the mets lead run to make it 2-1 on a David Wright double.
  • Since the teams birth in 1962 after playing a total of 7,963 games so far the mets have yet to throw a single no-hitter.
  • Manny Acosta got his 3rd save of the year as he closed out the game after giving up a hit.
  • With this loss to the Phillies they now have a 7 game skid.
