Rubén Darío Tejada (born October 27, 1989 in Santiago de Veraguas) is a Major League Baseball infielder Panamanian professional baseball player for the New York Mets.

2006-2009[]

He began his professional career in 2006. He played from 06-2009 in the minors.

2010[]

Tejada made his major league debut on April 7. But on April 9 he got his first major league hit off Washington Nationals, Tyler Walker. On his first day in the majors he went 0 for 2 with a HBP (Hit by Pitch) in 3 at-bats. He was then sent back down to the minors when Jose Reyes came off the DL and began playing.

On June 4 Tejada and Omir Santos came back to the Mets as Ruben replaced Luis Castillo who was put on the DL due to foot problems. Santos came back as Mets backup catcher Henry Blanco was a bit "Banged Up."

On July 11 Tejada got his first stolen base against the Atlanta Braves at Citi Field off pitcher Peter Moylan.

On July 20 Tejada was sent down to make room for Luis Castillo.

August 7,2010.

On September 5 Tejada hit his first major league homerun off Chicago Cubs pitcher Marcos Mateo on the first pitch.

On September 28 he hit his first walk off which was a 2 run double against the Milwaukee Brewers at home.

2011[]

On May 17 Pedro Beato, Tejada were brought up and Ryota Igarashi and Chin-lung Hu were sent down to the minors.

On July 19 Tejada was sent down as Jose Reyes came off the DL.

On August 8 Ruben took over Daniel Murphy's spot as he was placed on the DL as he was Murphing Out and in the where the Mets are Tomato Crushed. He was part of the game when Baxter,Duda Rally over Padres.

He got his first Major League Triple on August 29 in Game 2 in the 5 Game Series against the Florida Marlins.

2012[]

On May 7 Tejada was placed on the DL and Jordany Valdespin took his spot on the roster. He came off the DL on June 24 as Valdespin was sent down to make room for him on the roster.

2013[]

On May 30 Tejada was placed on the DL as Omar Quintanilla took his spot on the roster.
