Howard Johnson

Howard Michael Johnson (born November 29, 1960), nicknamed HoJo, is a switch hitting third baseman for the Rockland Boulders of the Canadian-American Association of Professional Baseball. One of the members of the 1986 and the 1986 World Series New York Mets team.

Johnson spent some time in the farm system as a coach and manager. In 2001 he was hitting coach for the Brooklyn Cyclones then manager replacing Edgardo Alfonzo in 2002. He was replaced by Tim Teufel as manager in 03'. He was the hitting coach for the St.Lucie Mets in 2003. Then for the Binghamton Mets in 2004. From 2005-2006 he was the Norfolk Tides hitting coach.

He joined the Mets club as the first base coach but was moved to hitting later in 2007 after Rick Down was fired. He was replaced by Rickey Henderson at first base.

He was replaced on December 13, 2010 as Dave Hudgens replaced him.
