Kevin Burkhardt (born March 2, 1974) is a former reporter who worked for SNY. He was primarily the field reporter during New York Mets telecasts. He joined the broadcast team at the beginning of the 2007 season, replacing Chris Cotter. Kevin is a former personality of the popular radio station, WFAN. In 1997, he graduated from William Paterson University. A South Jersey native, Burkhardt currently lives in New Jersey with his wife, Rachel, and son, Logan. Kevin got his chops at WGHT in Northern New Jersey and did minor league games on WJUX.
Kevin hosted Mets Hot Stove. He even made appearances on New York Mets Season Games, Mets First Pitch, Mets Pre-Game Live, Mets Post-Game Live and Post Game Extra. For the pre/post-game they show clips of his interviews before the game and after the game after only a win. He used to start off the season games and the Pre Game live show as he also says the hosts will join in shortly. He even hosted some of the regular season games mostly being done during spring training games of the Mets.
From 2010 to 2014 he has hosted Mets Year in Review which recaps the Mets seasons ups and downs. He even broadcasted Minor League Baseball's Brooklyn Cyclones games along side with Bob Ojeda. He also contributed to Geico SportsNite.
He also has hosted Specials such as Going Home with David Wright and he hosted Ralph Kiner: 50 Amazin' Years. Another one he hosted was the Mets All-Time Team along with Gary Cohen and Howie Rose. Also another special he hosted was R.A. Dickey: A Season to Remember. He also hosted Battle of the Broadcasters.
When he works with SNY he interviews players before and after the game. He even interviews fans for a segment during the game called Ask the Booth. On Pre-Game Kevin appeared on a segment called The Inside Word.
Kevin left SNY after 2014 to join Fox Sports.
