On August 6,2011 the Mets who were hosting the rival Atlanta Braves for 3 game series starting the day before. The Mets were looking to cover some ground in the NL Wild Card race as the leading Braves won last night to a score of 4-1 on Fiesta Latina Night as the Mets were wearing the new Los Mets Uniforms. With the lost the mets became 9 games back behind the Braves in the Wild Card.

Then the second game the mets were hoping to tie up the series and they did as 4 homeruns set off fireworks for the Amazin's won to a sloppy score of 11-7. In the first inning Justin Turner hit 2 homeruns for the Mets. Jon Niese got his 11th win but in 3rd inning he gave 5 runs but the offense sparked as the 4th inning Josh Thole tied the game with his 2nd homerun of the year. Jason Bay hit one and then Turner again later in the game got it going as he hit his second of the game.
