On May 18,2012 the Mets started a 3 game set against the Toronto Blue Jays. Jon Niese started for the Mets but was rocked early as they hit 4 homeruns off of him which lead the Mets to lose 14-5. Here are the notes.

- Jon Niese pitched three innings and allowed 8 runs, 8 hits. He also gave up 4 homeruns as two of them were hit by J.P. Arencibia.
- Manny Acosta allowed five more runs for the Jays.
- Scott Hairston hit a three-run home run.
- Robert Carson made his debut and pitching a scoreless inning in relief.
- Rob Johnson pitched a scoreless ninth to end the game.
