From September 23-25 originally the Mets were hosting the Philadelphia Phillies to begin their final homestead of 6 with the Cincinnati Reds coming after them. But a rain delay on the 23rd placed them to play a day/night double header and the finally starting around 2:10 PM instead of 1 PM due to the double header. Here are the Notes
R.A. Dickey started for the Mets and was spectacular as he threw 6 complete innings of no hit balls but it was stopped in the 7th inning by Shane Victorino who broke it up with a double. He would come across by a RBI single hit by Ryan Howard. He had 2 game saving plays from Josh Satin who was at the railing at foul ground on the mets first base side. Also Nick Evans who went all the back in right field and stumbled while making the catch.
As the mets were trailing behind 1-0 Val Pascucci came up to the plate and hit his first Met homerun and his first since 04 against the Mets as a member of the Expos which tied the game at one in the 7th inning.
Manny Acosta closed out the game after giving up a hit in the 9th and got the other outs for his 3rd save of the year.
Since the teams birth in 1962 after playing a total of 7,963 games so far the mets have yet to throw a single no-hitter.

The Mets were looking to continue they're good streak as they put Dillon Gee on the mound. He threw 6 innings as he gave up 3 runs (2 of them earned) on 9 hits,2 walks and striking out 2 batters.
Manny Acosta yet again closed out the game for his 4th save of the year in the 9th inning. The Mets won to a score of 6-3 taking the double header and they are now on a 3 game winning streak since the win in St.Louis.
The Mets are now 2-0 on this 6 game homestead and this series against the Phillies.
As the Philles lost these to games they now have an 8 game skid.
