On September 28,2011 on the Finale Game on the season in the bottom of the 1st inning on a 1-0 count while bunting Reyes got a perfect bunt single. Then he was taken out for the rest of the game. Even though critics say it was dumb move but Reyes still beat Milwaukee Brewers Ryan Braun for the batting title with a .337 average.
Reyes became the first Met in history to win a batting title in the National League.
